An Evening for Supporting Wetlands in Metro Vancouver’s Regional Parks

Join us on Thursday, September 24 2026, for an evening of celebration as we come together to raise funds in support of the incredible wetlands found throughout Metro Vancouver Regional Parks.

Building on the success of last year’s Fuelling Futures Corporate Breakfast (which raised over $25,000 to support Langley’s regional parks and youth), Parksfest 2026 will take place at the Burnaby Lake Rowing Pavillion. This year’s event will focus on raising funds to directly support the protection and restoration of wetlands across Metro Vancouver Regional Parks, while also celebrating the people, organizations, and park partners who help care for these vital ecosystems.

In partnership with Ducks Unlimited Canada, the evening will shine a spotlight on local wetland conservation efforts, recognize outstanding community and park partner contributions through special awards, and bring together leaders and supporters committed to protecting these landscapes.

Funds raised will support six new park projects:

Support a new interpretive display that showcases the ecological importance of Burns Bog, helping visitors learn how wetlands store carbon, support wildlife, improve water quality, and protect our environment.

Help create an outdoor classroom where youth can experience hands-on learning about wetlands, wildlife, conservation, and environmental stewardship in Burnaby Lake Regional Park.

Fund a new bird blind that allows visitors to observe birds and wildlife while protecting the sensitive wetland habitat that makes Widgeon Marsh so unique.

Support the restoration of wetland habitat that helps salmon thrive while improving water quality and strengthening the health of the entire ecosystem.

Help build a viewing tower that provides spectacular wetland views while encouraging wildlife appreciation and protecting sensitive habitats below.

Support the creation of a regional hub for wetland education, conservation, and community engagement, inspiring future generations to protect Metro Vancouver’s wetlands.
